Early this spring I moved the old birdbath from the back corner of the yard to the side, just outside my office window.
It was a foolish decision as I am now often distracted by the activities there. The squirrels have no difficulty in leaping up, or down to it. The Bluejay family have been visiting since the four little ones were old enough to fly; I’ve been watching them grow. And, just yesterday we had, at one time a young cardinal, a young robin, an adult wren and a stray young jay. The four ringed the bath and none were brave enough to be the first in the water, it was a standoff until the six-strong Bluejay family chased everyone else away.
